I applied for a job but it didnt say what it would be paying. So I nailed the interview and they finally told me the rate I would be making. Its not completely unfortunate, however it is an hour away(and its in Santa Barbara so I could never afford to live there which makes moving not an option.) so I feel like I'd be working to just pay the gas alone. Im not sure what to do now, stick with it or pull out?

What you should first consider would be the work you will be doing. Since you didn't mention this, I'm assuming that a.) you like the work you will be doing, and b.) you prefer it more than what you have now.

That being said, you should write down what your transportation and other expenses will be if you take the job. Always take into consideration that you may not always take the cheaper/st mode of transportation. For instance, there will be days when you might want to take a cab, etc. Factor this in. Also, how about in terms of food? Would your new office have cheaper meals? Compare these as well. Deduct it from you will be getting and then you'll have a clearer idea of how much you'll really have.

If you can live with it, and if you really like the money, then i'd say go for it. But if not, then stick with what you have.

Moreover, also consider how this change will affect you. Will it have longer hours? Will you have more freedom? And more importantly, will this help you in your long term plans? Always, always look at how it will impact your future career options.

Don't simply telephone. Go to a potential paintings situation in individual. Also, get dressed the way you could if you happen to have been going to begin running there correct whilst you stroll in. Be positive within the interview, and appear the interviewer within the eye.

i think you shouldn't. if it only covers your gas bill, then what can you use for your own needs. besides, an hour away?! you could still get paid for that hour you wasted. find a more closer job that gives more than you get.
