Using emule, have to use other softwares to play movies?

i download a movie in emule. but the problem is, when i tried to play it in real player, vlc, or windows media, it wont work. do i need to have some codes? like when i download in limewire, i needed that divx. what else do i probably need to do?

its free and has most of the plugins you will probably need to watch movies
