If some one poured two mcdonald size small cups of water into the gas tank will some one be able to detect whether someone put somethin in the tank.. some one did this too me last night and i don't want to call the police because i heard that since it was just alittle they won't be able too find out

It may mix with the alcohol in the gas and cause hard starts in the morning. Or cause it to run crappy for a while. But I doubt it will do any major damage.
Calling the police will do you no good. Unless you have a video of the perpetrators in action. It will be your word against theirs.
If you're mechanically inclined, you could disconnect the fuel filter first thing in the morning when the water has had a chance to settle to the bottom of the tank and try turning the ignition on to flush the water out a little.

A single cup is enough it can be trace and pose a serious treat to tour engine.My advice, if your car is not been started drain the fuel in the tank and if you happen to run the engine then the fuel lines must be flush,fuel filter must be replace it may require to remove the fuel rail to ensure it water free.If you just leave it,then expect this:your engine will stall,misfire,worst case it may damage fuel pump and engine internal components, unnecessary repair at your expense instead of somebody who is directly responsible.

that is incorrect, if they can detect large amounts they can certainly detect small ones too, the government has to test all gas before it is solled in the great us of a, if it has to much water than many people will have car problems and they will have a bunch of pissed of people, they surely can detect if it is enough to make the car run irregular, or if you have to replace stuff las fuel pump and filters

Even if they don't find out from you they might be able to catch them and connect them to you through something else they did stupid to someone else. So it's a good idea to call. They are kids and will do something like this soon remember adults would steal the car and kids will just ruin it. Oh and don't run your car. Siphon your gas and refill it.

The water will ruin the pistons and you will have to open like half the motor to clean all the water because your motor will start to rust. Don't waste time get it fixed right away!
