Singapore is safe to travel. first thing is to get a Singapore map, it is easy to get from hotels lobby, airport and tourist spot. find the places who interst you and take a MRT (light rail) it connects you to many places and cheap too.

There are a lot of great things to do in Singapore, but it can be expensive to get around by cab, and the bus system can be intimidating if you aren't familiar with the area. I would recommend taking advantage of the HIPPO Tours. We paid 23 SGD, about 15USD for a two day pass. It is an on and off service and also has night excursions to the zoo and sentosa island. They stop at places throughout the city every 30 minutes throughout the day, so you can get off, explore, and get back on another tour bus later. It is the greatest thing!

Here's a link. Their website isn't that great, but the best place to find them is in the Suntec City Mall. You can even get on at any point and buy a pass on the bus, but you can only pay cash there.

The other respondents gave great suggestions on what to see. Reserve some time to buy electronics (but know how much specific models say of ipods are in your hometown-- sometimes, electronics are cheaper in US walmart stores than overseas). It can be hot in the afternoon so you might want to do your out of doors touring in the am and visit an air conditioned mall or museum in the afteroon. A small umbrella can shield you from the sun and be a big help. You might also get slightly better exchange rates exchanging traveller's checks instead of paper money (US, Canadian, Australian, Sterling) for Singapore dollars.

Well, you can go sight seeing at places like Sentosa Island, Botanical gardens, Chinatown or go shopping at Vivo City (largest shopping centre in singapore).

Travelling is pretty easy and relatively cheap by taking the trains (it's called MRT here).

No problem:)
The island republic is fairly safe with a very low crime rate.
So fear not, lol. Just ensure yourself of the essentials i.e. travel documents, etc.
Check with your local travel agent for more details.
Language is not a barrier here & oh, remember to have fun!
