This is one of those movies you can watch over and over again. It is my favorite movie of all time!!!! You cheer for Andy when he escapes. It's a movie with a happy ending.

Awesome ! It is one of the best movies around. I love when Andy outsmarts the Warden. It gives you a feeling of justice that was deserved was received. I have watched it many times and could easily watch it again.

I thought the movie was well put together, was great. Good actors playing the certain rolls given to them. Morgan Freedom has always been a well thought out actor since his days on the soap show called, Another World. (Back in the 70s.) That was so great, sure made me chuckle how he out smarted the warden by wearing warden's shoe's and leaving his in return . And really who does take note on what shoes you are wearing. Left me with a feeling of, HA,ha,ha...
What comes around goes around.
Yes! The was indeed The best part!

This is easily one of the best movies I've ever seen and I never get tired of watching it! Andy really outsmarted that crooked warden and the cop too. Also loved Morgan Freeman in that movie as Red! Great movie!

I loved Shawshank Redemption! If you like jail films are attempting "The last castle" with Robert Redford and James Gandolfini, you can like it! And also: "The Rock" - with Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage (shot at Alcatraz).

Along with the NIght Flyer and the dead Zone...this is the best adaptation of a Stephen King story. Excellent.

I love that movie. Hadley and the Warden so got what they deserved, so it makes me happy. I just wish we actually got to see Hadley sobbing like a little girl when they arrested him.
Although, since one of the themes is hope... I'm gonna go with hopeful(?). :)

I love that movie too!! There is nothing worse than someone who proclaims to be a man of God who abuses other people, especially those who are really innocent! It does give people subjected to that kind of indecency some kind of hope still that "what comes around, goes around"!

honestly, i don't know why so many people like the movie so much, to me, it's a good movie but not loving it, probably because i watched it almost 20 years after it released. but overall it's a sad movie. i would rate it 8.5 out of 10.
