Whenever I insert it the light just starts blinking. It didn't use to do that. The computer doesn't even recognise that there is a USB drive installed. Help

Whenever I have any drive stop working, I use this. It works less than half of the time on dead disks, but when all else fails I do have some success. It won't hurt to try. It is safe. It will give a couple of warnings to make sure you have the right drive and want to proceed.

Try reformatting it.

Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management > Right click the drive and reformat

1, right click on my computer
2. click on manage
3. click on disk management
4. see if it shows up there (if shows up assign a drive letter)
5. double click on my computer and refresh

if the above does not work

go to device manager and try to update driver
or add new hardware and try to install the driver for that

if all the above will not work, just throw your USB and get a new one

if it has failed then there is no way to fix it unless you whant to take it apart there is a liittle battery you can replace there are no moving parts ina flash drive so im wondering if it was formated on a mac if so you need to get it repartitioned and re formated if you droped it...it may sound crude but hit it agenst your palm it might knock the battery back in place
but i dont know how high you tech level is?

If you upgraded to Windows Vista recently, there seems to be some issues with Vista recognizing this USB drive.
