I'm thinking about picking up some new items in my store - Are you drawn to new products based upon the ingredients or the package more?
I'm thinking specifically about lip balms, soaps and lotions.
I need to redo those sections of my shelves....

P.S. I manage a gift store, so its not like we have a lot of these things, just an 8 foot section

well since they are soaps and lotions, I would feel tempted to open and smell them!
If their scent matches my taste then I buy.
In answer to your q, personally I am more drawn to the packaging, it's what gets your attention

I usually buy by the packaging - either stuff in a pretty container or the packaging has some fashion magazine's approval stamped on it.

I look at the ingridients. Sometimes they can contain harsh chemicals that damage your skin example soaps with fake fragrances can irritate the skin. They contain chemicals

Make sure it smells nice
and how big it is
and $$$$$ cost.
