I have nothing against the working class Brits whatsoever. They're just hardworking folks like anyone else trying to cut out a living in a country where it's difficult to do so. They generally are not critical of others, serve their country in the military, are mostly patriotic, and have some good sense.
The traveling, "upper crust" Brits are snobbish, critical, and think the world owes them everything. They consider everyone else ( Especially Americans ) beneath them, uneducated, uncultured, and uncouth. These individuals never had a callouse on their hands in their entire lives or did a days manual labor. The ones I've met are rude, demanding, and wouldn't give a "commoner" the time of day.
Is it any wonder they chained the 3rd class "steerage" passenger doors on the Titanic and let them all die, so the "upper crust" could get in the lifeboats and survive? Typical.
And no, Yorkshire pudding is not a dessert. I've had it many times. ( And I'm American )

What image, as in what stereotyped image, or what I imagine Brits to be like?
Cartoony Stereotyped version:
Brits wear monocles, eat fish and chips, say things like "bother", "bully", "right-o", and "blast", they love soccer (ok, ok. "football") tea, and the queen, they are very proper, like dry humor, and have butlers named Jeeves.
Reality version:
Brits are like everyone else. Many (if not most) like tea, football, and dry humor. Many like the queen. Other than that, you can't lump them all into a single category any more than you could lump all Americans into a single category.
My one (I guess more than one) complaint is that the British seem to all join in the same game as everyone else in the world of let's hate and blame everything on the Americans. Yes, much bad comes from America, but let's not get all hypocritical. It wasn't very long ago that "the sun never set on the British empire", emphasis on the word empire.
Also, I get a more than a little irritated with the patronizing, condescending attitude that some Brits show towards all Americans. Sorry, you're not all geniuses, and we're not all idiots.
But on the whole, I enjoyed my trip in Britain years ago, and I don't have any bad feelings toward Brits.
Cheers!
Oh, almost forgot, what is it with you guys and your knack for creating some of the best music ever? That's one of the best things about the Brits, your ongoing musical talent.

hey i have mad love for the Brits!
they gave us the exploited, the sex pistols, Benny hill, violent soccer rivals (Manchester!!!!). that and for some reason old Hollywood made you all out to be the bad guys (go fig). and the best thing about Brits, you guys are on a completely different level of cussing and slang words that we will never catch up to.
*hope everything is going good on the other side of the pond!*

I think of Brits as having proud traditions. I think of Queens and Kings. I think of your long history. And you make no excuses for anything. You tell it straight as it is. "Benny Hill" was on the television here, along with "Dave Allen at Large". I thought Dave Allen was funnier.

I love British people.
I think of tea when I think of British people. And the Spice Girls, and all the novels I've read, because most of the authors were from Britian and take place there. Really good books though.
I couldn't find any funny pictures...but I love these girls.

Well, I watch Cornation Street, so I kind of see Brits like that, I mean, with the accent, and food they eat, etc.. I think that they are pretty cool people. I don't think there is a big difference between you guys and us Canadians.

I have a good image of British people. Especially one. I'm from the US and the woman who I love more than anything is from England. So my opinion isn't a bad one at all.

Hey dollface! I think that you are fine and way better than that bimbo that I used to date. I like the british 'cause they know that Americans have their back and vice versa. I think that Brits don't like us Americans but know deep down that if anything went down in their country, the colonies would have their back unlike those losers in Europe. But anyway, how about a spin in my roadster?
