Check that you haven't enabled 'digital output only' for speakers that do not support digital output.

Is this a new setup? On my computer, the audio input and output jacks are mismarked. My input jack is actually the output. Good luck.

you have to install drivers from mother board drivers cd.
go to device manager and update driver.
still it does not work, then throw that buy a new one.
