I have pet rats and for some reason they really seem to suit the silliest names both as babies and as adults.

Some of the silliest names I've come up with so far are:
Bugweed
Broadbean
Jujube Gumdrop
Kashi Cornpop
Lemony Snicket
Mulberry Mudpye
Nacho Cheesenip
Goober

Someone else named her rat Velcro because she hung on while shoulder-riding like velcro.

A three-legged rat was named Tripod.
