Hello everyone,

I live in Thailand and I wanna be a Hollywood Actor, Film director/Screenwriter. I'm not rich but I've talents, I don't have enough money to spend for Acting or Film Making School in the U.S.A., where is the best and biggest Film Industry in the world.

It's much more harder to have the dreams that don't mesh with what my parents want. They won't afford me for it so I've to try by myself. Why don't I find a job? It's impossible to get enough money from PT job in developing country. That's why I've to apply for university.

Applying for Acting or Film in university here is a waste of time. Some said I'd better to try something else that give me more chances to find job in the U.S.A., then start my dreams.

Is it a good way? If it is, so what should I study in university that will give me more chances to work in the U.S.A. or Canada? I also have talented in writing and learning language. Should I apply for B.A. Russian? If you have any idea please let me know

What subject so you want to study? A major in art is good preparation for a career in filming or theatre arts. Other possible majors are theatre, and anything in the fine arts field.

Do you have a green card?

It entirely depends upon you. Are you going to be operating in Canada, USA, or Europe? Have you been to a lot of these nations? Americans are, good Americans. I may not generalize an excessive amount of however my brief research at a pair American faculties had been stupid, and stuffed with youngsters short of to play beer pong, have intercourse, and social gathering at all times. I've been to Germany oftentimes. Germans are excellent! All the youngsters there talk excellent English. They are good rounded of their pursuits, extra keen on politics and international affairs, extra personable and hospitable. You mentioned you're going to need to move by way of a language software. Have you ever studied yet another language? German could be very tough. The toughest European language beside the Slavic languages. Reason being is the instances and pronunciation. Look into it earlier than you are making a choice. I am American, however studied at Moscow State University in Moscow. I have a excellent task with my measure. If I used to be to move dwelling to America, it might be very rough to get a role considering that an enterprise is much more likely to rent an man or woman with an American degree over a Russian one. ;-) :-P

Two deep thoughts:

First, there is much disenchantment with students who have specialized in certain areas and cannot "see the big picture". Computer science students and MBAs, in particular, are much mocked in Canadian and American business circles because many of the people holding them are shallow bean counters with very poor people skills and even less common sense.

I would recommend a good, well-rounded bachelor of arts degree in something like history or political studies. Take classes in widely varying fields. My own background includes things as disparate as geology, accounting, political studies and psychology -- all of which I use in my life as a businessman.

Any damned fool can learn about accounting and marketing in a few months. But having the big picture in your head and being able to get along with people is something that is far more important.

Second, remember this old saying: get a job that you love and you will never work a day in your life.
