You are right, the number is higher. We all have bad apples.
Let me add something. I researched this statistic, and if you look at some of my previous questions. It is not whites are more registered sex offenders. It is over 90% of the reported crimes against children are commited by whites. Also Over 80% of the sexual crimes against nature are commited by whites. Serial rapist is over 70%. Rape, indecent liberties with minors are higher within the minority sector

Careful with using terms like "sex offender" so loosely. It doesnt mean a violent person, a pedophile, a rapist, or anything like that necessarily.
I have a friend who went to a soccer game back in high school and ran naked through the field at half-time. Streaking. He got caught and is now a "sex offender".
Hes a great guy and hes white, and technically a sex offender, but that doesnt mean anything at all.
So think about how many silly things can make one "a sex offender". I believe pissing in public and gettin caught can result in a sex offender label. Or havin sex in a car out in public, or all kinds of other stuff. It doesnt mean anything and isnt representative of anything at all.
Now, if there were some kind of violent offender database, that would be a whole different question, and you might have a point, but to my knowledge such a database doesnt exist.

Depends upon where you live. Sex offenders come in all races. If you live in an area where there is more of one type of race over another, then the likelihood that you will find more sex offenders of that race is higher.
