Several months ago, I left a company I had been working at for over 4 years. It was a very good paying job and I felt I had always been a dependable, hardworking and dedicated employee. My year end reviews were good and my work performance was decent as well. However things started to go badly as a new VP took over and many folks were fired, let go, or bullied in to quitting. During this time I had a misunderstanding with a supervisor that didn't go well, and was basically asked to quit or be fired, so of course I quit. They made it very clear I was deemed "not eligible for re-hire" and I'm sure they are not going to give me a favorable review if potential employers contact them. Since leaving I started my own small e-commerce business, but need to go back to work to make sure I don't drain all of my savings and can continue to pay the bills. My question is, what do I do if I'm not eligible for re-hire by my previous employer and a potential employer calls them and relays this info?

most ask for permission to check with your employer. just explain what happened.

Most companies these days will only state the period of time that you worked there. Nothing more, nothing else. I would not be concerned about the non-rehire status if you feel that the jobs you are applying for are in your field.

If asked during an interview why you left, state that managment changed and was moving in a direction that you felt was not in your best interest.

Many employers place little value in past employers' reference.

Most will do little more than verify whether or not you worked there, and what your job was.
Your reason for leaving is not unusual. Just say, there was a change in management. If many were left go, chances are many places you apply will know all about this.

yeah most applications ask if it is ok to contact former employer. Other than that in the US unless it is for a reference they can only confirm dates of hire, and previous employment, beyond that there are HR concerns with slander. In most cases HR dept will not comment if a former employee is rehirable.

you're splendid, they do no longer look to be meant to declare something different than which you probably did artwork there for even with the undeniable fact that long & i think of, they are in a position to respond to the question, if asked, by using the hot ability business company, would you hire them to artwork for you lower back, they are in a position to respond to definite or no, yet supply no motives no count if that's a no. i'm going to be incorrect related to the legality of even asking that question, yet i understand that that's asked by using ability employers.

YOU QUIT BECAUSE YOU FELT YOU NO LONGER FIT INTO THEIR NEW VP'S PLAN.
