Because we, (the U.S.), are hated by most of the world. They are envious of us and our freedom/democracy. They would "love" to see us fail.
Shame, isn't it?

Some other countries are helping, Britain, Australia etc. - and their governments are unpopular for it.
Remember, no WMD's were found.
The White House tried to tie Iraq in with 9/11 - even though many Americans bought that at the time, most of the rest of the world did not.
The reasons to invade were not clear enough.
Terrorists were and are hiding out in the mountains of Pakistan, an ally to the west.
As nasty as the Iraqi government was, there are many nasty governments in the world. And there are international laws against simply invading a sovereign nation.
And it is still considered an illegal war.
Did not get approval from the UN. Like it or not, that approval was important. When people like Colin Powell tried to make the case at the UN. It became apparent later that the decision was based on bad intelligence.

That's why you get UN clearance before any war. But we didn't and went any way when UN didn't give green light. We didn't convince enough countries that this is something they should be interested in. But you'll still be surprised how far some of smaller countries went to send troops to Iraq. Lot of countries provided support functions including Mongolian army, but we do pretty much all the fighting.

Countries didn't join the war in Iraq because THEY KNEW it would end in civil war. This mess was predicted by other countries before the war started; did you not listen to bbc and cbc news? Countries do not want to join now for the same reasons as before...they do not want to be involved in a bloody civil war. You have a choice....stay or get out. Pick one. USA will never learn a lesson if it gets bailed out...and these messes would be made again.

#1. Bush is not very well liked around the World- because he's always had a very bad habit of telling other countries what they "should" be doing to help us. #2. Most of the rest of the World KNOWS that "outsiders" are NOT WELCOME in the Middle East- so they steer clear of military involvement there. #3. Four years of war, with no end in sight for what's supposed to be the World's "last Superpower", does NOT encourage further involvement by other countries. And #4. Many countries feel that we have NO BUSINESS in Iraq in the first place- and feel that WE should clean up the mess that WE made by going in there. In other words, as far as the rest of the World is concerned; "You broke it, you fix it. -You were warned."

Hello? To everyone who answered this question and the original questioner...we here in the UK have been losing soldiers too!
You seem to think that you've done it all yourself. What about our good soldiers who died? Did George Bush not tell you that we're over there or do we not count for some strange reason?
