The name dope was given to it by very smart people who used to show films of how the stuff made people go crazy and sex wild. (Very Smart People)... Marijuana or whatever you wish to call it is a beautiful plant and wonderful substance. Get educated experiment with your life if it makes you "dopey" and you don't enjoy feeling "dopey" than don't do it. If it helps you in some way keep on. Get educated through experience. Remember it is illegal in the good ol' U.S of A, just keep that in mind. Oh and some amazing people in history have enjoyed smoking DOPE. Great men of Science and Psychology.

You will no doubt get a lot of support here for doing it. So here are some of the negatives.
1) Weed burns at a much higher temperature than tobacco and therefore does many times more lung damage.
2) THC the active ingredient in weed collects in the fatty tissue of the body especially the brain and gonads (gahonies) (testes and ovaries) And since it is not water soluble it stays there for some time and can do damage to DNA. Such damage could and probably occasionally does cause cancer and birth defects not to mention stupidity and poor short term memory.
3)It is illegal in most places in America and can cause you difficulty with the police.
If you must use it eat it in brownies. This solves two problems.
1)no lung damage
2)takes care of the munchies
Also it is cheaper this way taking less to get higher and stay that way longer. (although you get high a bit slower)
Hopefully using this technique you will live long enough to get wise enough to quit. Not to mention being able to breathe at higher altitudes (or at all) when you are older.

It's probably no worse than anything else. As time has gone on, it has been discovered there are a number of legitimate medical uses for marijuana: it relieves nausea, reduces menstrual cramping, increases appetite, aids in pain management, and is reported to reduce intraoccular pressure in patients with glaucoma.
Alcohol statistically does far more damage than marijuana, but alcohol is legal and is a source of tax revenue. The only reason marijuana is illegal is due to pressure from the pharmaceutical industry. If people are smoking dope, they won't need Prozac, Xanax, Valium, Effexor, Zoloft or Ativan. You're looking at billions of dollars of profit lost by the pharmaceutical company stockholders if MJ is legal, especially since you can grow it yourself. When Pfizer, Roche, Eli Lilly, and Astra-Zeneca can grow marijuana in secret and sell it to us themselves, then it will be legal.
Also, since MJ is a "recreational drug," the religionists have a stake in keeping it illegal. The one thing religion fears most is the idea that somewhere, somehow, somone is having fun and not thinking about Jesus. It's another of religion's efforts to legislate morality.
In general, I really don't care about it. I have 17 years experience as a psychiatric nurse, and I'll tell you something: I saw far more people screwed up by alcohol and LEGAL PRESCRIPTION DRUGS than I ever saw messed up by weed. That includes my alcoholic grandfather, father and brother. People are going to be addicted to stuff whether it's legal or not. Prohibition proved that. Legislating morality is a bad idea and a bad way to make laws. We are becoming a society of nannies, and it's getting silly.

I tried it once, I had a very good time. I liked it very much, but it is something that is prohibited and is socially and healthy wrong, so I just tried it and that was it. I'll will ever do it again.
I tried it knowing that I may like it, and I did, before trying I was convinced that it was going the only time in my life.
I recommend if you try it, wait until you are mature enough to control weed, and not the weed controls you.

Its legal in my country if its past of your religion and your over the age of 15. Rastas can smoke weed if you can prove youve been a rasta for a certain amount of years im not sure how long.
I think its just as bad as drinking and if society says thats ok then we should be allowed to smoke weed. Drinking is just as addictive and does just as much harm to your body. maybe if they legalise it then the crime related to the industry will go down.

Bad stuff. Those who approve will obviously disagree with me. When I was a teenager in the 70's, those who smoked it were high, but it was not nearly as potent as it is today, and today it is often mixed with so much other junk that is very harmful to the body. I like to feel clearheaded, thank you very much. Getting high might be fun for some, but I think it would be a pretty scary thing to not have all my faculties about me and then be proned to risky or foolish behavior as a result. No thanks.

Its great, in moderation. Just like everything else.
Too much causes problems, just like too much of anything causes problems.
It shouldnt be called a drug and should be legalised, for many reasons.
Have a great day
