I don't know but I tend to think warm weather, and strange species of animals.. Maybe Austrailians are not as afraid of creatures as and American would be?

Well, Crocodile Dundee was pretty much my intro to Aussies - not bad, if it's even remotely stereotypical, and still not bad, if it's not!
I now have an aquaintance from Australia - great guy, but difficult to understand when he drinks, but that's also because he's got a lisp... lol!
Met 2 Aussies years ago at a pub in Los Angeles - they were kind enough to explain to me what a Snake's Hiss was, i.e., Pointing Percy at the Porcelain, and then excused me, when I, in turn, left for a Shiela P.
I always wondered if that was real slang, or if they just made that up...

I barely know one of my daughter's friends who is from"down under". She is being thrown a surprise birthday party this Saturday, and over 60 people are going to attend! I'd say you Australians must be a like able lot! ( the party is in Maryland in the USA.)

I kinda identify Y'all with us Americans. Kind of like you were pioneers to. England brought your ancestors to your shores, under arrest and they made a life there under some harsh conditions. You've done real well! Everyone I've met has been polite and kind. And proud of their country. I would LOVE to visit but I don't think the tranquilizer would last for the 20 hour flight!

I think Australia is one of those places most Americans would like to visit. There's something about it that holds our attention whenever we hear mention of it or see something about it on TV.
I think(and I could be wrong)is that it seems very exotic,but not too exotic,because Australians,by and large,look like us.
And you gave us Rachel Hunter,so you're already way ahead!
