and having full conversations with a man and a woman. He said he saw people breaking into his warehouse. However, nobody else has seen these 'people'. The other night, about 3 days ago, I was in my bedroom, reading. All of a sudden, I heard my roommate enjoying a laugh with a woman. I heard both of them! I stepped into the hallway, curious to see who he had over. There was nobody in his room, or the house! It freaked me out because I heard her! I actually thought he might be doing drugs, or was menatlly unbalanced. Now, I'm questioning my own sanity. What gives?? Anyone have any advice?

He told me (and the police, when they came to check out the warehouse situation) that he saw them. He also carried on conversations with them in front of others. I asked if he had a woman over, and he said yes, and pointed at the ceiling. We live in a single-story house.

You are not going insane. There are times that you are not receptive to the paranormal. If your roommate is making conversations with a man and a woman and you don't see them, don't mock him. If you always come into the room and he's talking, don't interrupt the conversation.
If you can, ask your friend politely if you can record some of his conversations with his "unseen friends. If he agrees, you can go on studying with the paranormal. Perhaps you can ask your friend to start up a conversation and introduce yourself to his friends. Tell him that this type of phenomenon is very unusual. If he does not want you or his guest find that you are intruding, politely leave and resume your work elsewhere.

If you can read up on "The Everything Ghost Book" which is available in every bookstore, feel free to learn more about the unexplained. I wish you luck on your adventure, and don't feel discouraged or afraid when you run into these types of situations.

Also make another note to yourself that you're not crazy. There is still energy running around this world which you cannot see. Stay open minded and perceptive.

Ok. I've read the other answers. Now it is time for a responsible adult to interject.

There is one of three things going on here:

1) Your roommate has figured out how to yank your chain. He is doing a little bit of acting either to a) get a rise out of you or b) to get rid of you.

2) You have just become the teller of good spooky stories, or

3) He is possibly schizophrenic and needs to see a psychiatrist.

If 1 and 2 are false, that leaves 3. If he is schizophrenic, he is most likely, but not necessarily, harmless. If he only hears voices and carries on odd conversations with imaginary or invisible people, fine. But if he begins to display any sort of violent behavior, get yourself out of his presence.

In any event, if you know how to contact his family, do so now!

If, however you have been yanking our chains....GOOD ONE!

You should see a doctor if you are really scared, but just retrace your steps and walk through the night again. Think of what you had to eat and if you had enough sleep the night before. If you were reading for a long time and everything was quiet than your mind might have just played a trick on you. This is normal because our mind needs entertainment, and you are fine.

My guess is that you have a carbon monoxide leak. Because you were up for a long time at night, it effected you along with your rommate, who I assume spends more time in the room than you. Carbon Monoxide causes hallucinations, voices, and the other things that sometimes lead people to believe something is haunted. Have landlord check it out.

Have you ever spent time with the roommate outside of home? If so does he act this way in Public? if so I think your roommate may need some help even if there is no other era-dict behavior.

Did he say he was hearing voices or did you just think he said he was hearing voices? Maybe you don't even have a roommate...John Nash didn't.

Not knowing him, I'd say your room mate is schizophrenic, and using two voices.
