I get my hair done every two months, get a facial once a month, I do my own manicures and pedicures but I make sure they are done, at least once a week. I take good care of my skin. I like to shop but I only spend about one hundred dollars a week on clothes. Would you consider me a high maintenence woman? Or just a person who takes care of themself?

I also excersise four times a week. I get an instant tan once a week. I wear makeup to work only.

OH YEAH I PAY FOR ALL MY OWN THINGS. I HAVE NEVER HAD A GUY BUY ME THINGS OR TAKE ME SHOPPING. ONLY ON DATES AND I SOMETIMES PAY THEN TOO.

Instant tan is FAKE tanning. I don't go out in the sun...I don't want to be old with brown spots all over me. AND I don't want cancer.
Shopping is my passion. I don't know if I can stop. Thrift stores don't do it for me. I wish they did.

High maintenance has less to do with you than how it affects those around you. Do you constantly keep people waiting so you can look just so so? Does your beauty routine get in the way of you enjoying activities...like are you afraid to get wet or dirty if the activity calls for it? If so, then I would say you are high maintenance. But if you are able to do all the things you say you do and it doesn't affect the lifestyle of your friends then I would think you are just a very discerning person who is particular about the way you like to care for yourself.

1) skip the tan, you'll regret it later.
2) $100 a week on clothes is a excessive, it looks like Al Gore's energy consumption. Spend $20 at the thrift store and give the rest to homeless shelters. Clothes do not make the woman: they hide her. If you do not want to donate to charity, the $400 should go into investments.
3) Facial is OK. Taking care of your skin (skip the tan!) is good. Working out at the gym four times a week will keep you in shape and keep you happy and healthy.
4) High maint women are generally always OCB, Bi-polar, or schitzophrenic. So keep your mental health, fiscal heath, and physical health strong and balanced and I'll give you a stamp of approval in spite of the clothing costs.

As long as you work and are financially independent and can afford all of it yourself... then you set your own rules.
Now, if you're expecting someone else to take care of you... then that's another story.
I guess high maintenence, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
Except for the instant tan, I guess. I don't know exactly what you mean (salon or spray?), but don't do anything that will hurt your skin.

only a hundred a week on clothes - thats as much as my rent!
Oh yeah, thats high maintenance in most books.
You might want to post it in the singles and dating section too, just to see what the guys say.
Be well.

Everything you said is cool except...$100.00 a week????? Do you ever the same thing twice in a lifetime? But no I wouldn't call you high maintenance...You're a woman who wants to look a certain way and who takes good care of her body...More women should follow in your foot steps...Keep up the good work!

I don't think that's high maintenance. The people I call high maintenance are the ones who expect everyone else to take care of them and their crap. I have a sister in law like that. I swear, if you don't remind her, she'll forget her head and blame you for not reminding her.

i consider myself high-maintenance, but i don`t think it`s a bad thing!!! i just like to make sure i look good at all times, mostly for myself...i color my hair, have my nails done, go to the tanning bed, always have my makeup done, do a lot of shopping...i like to take care of myself because if i don`t who will...i think u should do whatever u need to to feel good about yourself...

i don't necessarily consider that kind of thing high maintinence. the things i consider high maininence are things like being difficult to please and having to always think if i will get 'in trouble', if you will, for something. if i can't really relax in a relationship and have to tread softly then it's high maintinence.
what you are describing is just liking to look and feel good. the high maininence comes in if it would be expected for me to go w/ you for all of these excursions, or expect me to pay for them. don't get me wrong, i do work in relationships and try to make my girl feel special, it's when things are expected and not appreciated.... sorry this was so long.

i think as long as you are paying for it yourself... its just you taking care of yourself... but if you are expecting guys you date to furfill all these needs you might be considered a tad bit high maintenance
