Cleaning houses is definitely a real job, however, it is not what is considered a career. It is definitely alot of hard work, and it brings in a pay check. It is great that you are able to bring in enough money to cover so many expenses. Is it that your husband is embarrassed by your job or is it that he is concerned about the long-term? As you get older, physical limitations may not allow you to continue cleaning houses and thus leaving your family living only on your husband's career. But, he shouldn't be embarrassed that you are willing to work to help out your family!

That is a real job and probably one the hardest because you are always having to make things just right no skipping corners etc. He should be happy your working some women would rather just on there duffs and spend money. Good for you next time he says something to you about tell him he couldn't handle what you do offer to switch jobs for a day he will back down in a heartbeat. Maybe because you do all the cleaning at your own home he doesn't know how hard it really is. I think it's time for you to kick his butt into doing some of the chores.

God Bless and you go girl.

Cleaning houses is a real job, allows for flexible time and
you can pretty much be your own boss, and it is a lot better
than working as a waitress or retail clerk ...
Dog Walker is also a good but undervalued job...

That job is a real job as far as I'm concerned, only real jobs can pay for bills and outings and things like that.... I wonder what a real job is for him... you should ask him.

It's obviously a real job, you're paying for a lot of things... it's a really hard job too, that's what my mom does, and I've went with her before to help, and I couldn't last a day...

My fellow strong, independent and fierce lady,
Kudos to you for making an honest living. It is not the job that defines who we are, but our actions throughout life. Your husband is missing out on how wonderful a person he has married. It's too bad & a huge loss! You deserve someone who can truly see how great you are! Good Luck!

If it provides money for the family it is a real job, tell your husband to back off that you make money and the honest way. just for jokes ask your husband if stripping would be considered a real job...maybe he will shutup then.

I'd rather dig a 20' hole with a shovel, then burry it before I would want to clean a house. Yes house cleaning is a job, appearantly a rough one from what i think
