I have two males...in seperate bowls
One a "regular" betta - he gets all aggitated and huffy
The halfmoon tail doesnt.

I know it isn't because of age (they are both about a year)
has anyone else heard that halfmoons are less aggressive?
Not that I care - I wouldnt let them fight anyhow ;)
I just happened to notice and was curious.

every betta has a different personality. some are highly strung, some are completely chilled out. i have one that flares at me when i go near the tank, another that just dances, and another that runs away!

All bettas can vary in their personalities, regardless of what kind they are. I have had very timid males who are just regular bettas, and very angry ones. I currently have a crowntail who seems pretty relaxed most of the time.

Well, all Bettas behave the same.. It only depends on their moving capabilities, behaviour and how terrorism are them. If their speed are slow, doesn't means they don't fight. It only depends when they will fight, and whether they can tolerant other fishes in their tank or not.

the only difference between a "half moon" and "regular" betta is genintic mutation. aggression is pure personality. everyone is differant, fish, people, la, la, la.
no male betta should be housed w/ another male.
good call.
great fish tho.
i raised and bred them when i was i a teen. i helped develope some of you babies!
enjoy!

since theyre in a bowl im guessing they dont have adequate filtration or heating... so maybe ur betta is sick... invest atleast in a ten gallon tank with a divider to make them more comfortable... please
