This is America. Why would you even ask something like that. Besides when we go to a different country, they don't change their ways of doing things just to please us. We give in to much as it is.

Well, what is the variations among kids pronouncing the Pledge of Allegiance in colleges and kids pronouncing "two + two = four"? Remember, colleges are there to train, adding the loyalty to the nation that took them as residents and visitors. Sure small children would no longer totally realise the meanings now, but if they are grownup that they may be able to made up their possess minds. Unless of path you suppose that youngsters should not be unswerving to the nation that took them as residents and visitors, plus that "two + two = five".

What a stupid question! No! As a Canadian, I never pledged alliegiance to the flag...however, were I to get US citizenship, I would, with all my heart. And I teach my dual-citizen children to love, honor and respect the United States.
If you don't like it, go back to where you came from ! Or get citizenship in another country where you can yell Allahu Akbar on a plane. You are not constrained to be here....well, unless you are imprisoned.

No the Pledge is a part of our American tradition. However it should be treated the same as swearing on the bible in court. Optional for every student.

Please tell me this is a rhetorical question and that this is not intended as a promotion for the exile of the pledge. Absolutely not. If people are offended by the pledge, then they don't have to recite it. We shouldn't have to eradicate national pride and tradition because there are a few glass houses out there begging to be stoned.

Absolutely not. This is the United States of America. If you don't want to say the pledge, don't say it. But, I'll be damned, if anyone is going to tell my children they can't say the pledge because it isn't politically correct. My children and myself are staunch patriots of this country and we will continue to say the Pledge of Allegience at school, at scout meetings, at church, and wherever else we decide we want to say it. Political correctness be damned!!

We are all Americans first and foremost and the pledge is a sign of our allegiance to our country. If an atheist doesn't want to say "one nation under God" then let them keep quiet for the moment that this is said. 95% of us want to say "under God".

No. It should remain optional. Because aside form one phrase added in the 1950s, it is neutral relative to culture or religion.
I think the "under God" part was a mistake in the 1950s, and should be removed, putting back the "Equality" part ("Liberty, Equality and Justice for all") instead.

No. A show of allegiance to your country is a fair indoctrination of our youth.
It's the "under god" phrase that I have a problem with.
