As much as it pains me to say it, I think Notre Dame has a good shot. However, I'm pullling for Michigan to take it home.

Obviously you've got to look at the one seeds and see a Minnesota team that gutted out a win in the WCHA final against archrival North Dakota as a team with serious potential. However, the NCAA didn't do them any favors with their seeding. Play Air Force in Denver, and then the winner of Michigan/North Dakota.

Another team that could do well is Notre Dame, a school with absolutely no hockey history that is actually ranked #1 in the nation right now. They have a relatively easier draw, playing in Grand Rapids (a quick two hour jaunt from South Bend) against sub-.500 Alabama-Huntsville, and then the winner of Michigan St.-BU. Playing against MSU in the Grand Rapids could be tricky, but you've got to think they'd have home ice advantage against BU.

In all honesty, I don't really know much about the state of hockey out East this year, so I will refrain from giving my uneducated opinion on that matter. That said, here are my picks:

East- Maine, not too impressed with Clarkson, much less SCSU as of late.
Midwest- Notre Dame, though MSU will certainly be formidable.
West- North Dakota, Gophers avoid the first round AHL upset, but can't repeat last weekend's result.
Northeast- New Hampshire, Wildcats win playing half an hour from home.

Frozen Four (how did I end up with two #1 vs. #3 games?)
Notre Dame over Maine
New Hampshire over North Dakota

Championship
New Hampshire over Notre Dame in an 'upset'

So much for Notre Dame. After barely holding off my Alabama-Huntsville Chargers after nearly 100 minutes of play, they definitely weren't a match for Michigan State. I'm actually going to put my money on the Spartans, I think they have a chance to pull something out of nowhere this year.

I'm a St. Lawrence alum, and I can tell you that I'm rooting for Joe Marsh's team. Objectively they might be considered a long-shot, however. College hockey is very exciting, to say the least.

Afraid it's going to be Minnesota or North Dakota again. I know Michigan will do their usual flop of late.
