Even Michael Jordan said he is better, MIchael Jordan said today after kobe scored 50+ in 3 games in a row, he could have never done that. SO PLEASE SHOW SOME RESPECT, YOU THINK THOSE SHOTS ARE EASY? MY GOD, HOW MUCH MORE DOES KOBE HAVE TO PROVE THAT HE IS THE GREATEST, I don't even have a word to describe Kobe, HE IS INCREDIBLE!

He's flashy, but overrated! If he played in a smal market and had never played with Shaq, he would be a footnote!

No disrespect to Kobe, but here's why I don't believe you:

1. Jordan DID score 50 three games straight. 86-87. Look it up... (so I don't believe it when you say Jordan said that)

better yet, scroll to the middle if you don't believe me.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/si_online/flashbacks/jordan/871109/

2. Elgin Baylor and Wilt scored 50+ in three straight too.

3. Even though I agree he's 1st team all-nba, he's not the best player in his own conference (that'd be Dirk). And remember I said PLAYER not SCORER.

4. Until I hear a sound bite or read a quote that MJ said that, I can't believe you. Heres why: as a competitor (and Jordan is renowned for his competetive nature) a player never admits someone's better than himself. Never.

A lot of people hate Kobe because of his off the court stuff. I'm a Bulls fan and could care less about the guy. Like I said, I respect his skills. He is still a snitch, so in the real world, he deserves NO respect. But on the floor, he is a bad man.

Yep he is great but not everybody has to agree his the greatest! everybody likes different styles... Vince Carter's great dunks, Allen Iverson's crossover, Steve Nash's playmaking, some people don't care about how much one player can score, they just watched the eye popping skills that those players create, I didn't not say Kobe Bryant doesn't have it, there's even racism such as why a chinese guy in the nba like Yao Ming, People can call somebody a rapist, People can be ball hogs, but it's your decision to like whoever! Kobe is only the greatest by stats but if he can just take down a notch and pass around most of the time like a real teammate like Michael Jordan it could do some good for him, it's not a bad thing, it's actually a great thing to do! gain alot more reputation like MJ!

as far as the raping goes that is a whole differnt story that has nothing to do with his game and yes his game is hot and i think i agree that if he were in a one on one contest with everyone in the world he would win he is good and yes those shots he makes are hard and sometimes seem impossible but the thing about michael jordan is he was a team player that made everyone on the team do good and he inspired the bulls team to win kobe doesnt do to much team work even though he does get lots of assists he doesnt bring the team together to win games and championships like MJ did i think shaq was the team leader when he was there thats why they were winning back then they had talent and a good leader.....but still MJ did amazing things but yes Kobe could take him

Kobe is no doubt a great player, Top Ten of all time. But to say he is the best? That's way to early to determine that. It's silly to say that he is the best player of all time every game he scores 50 points or more. And by the way, today's game in which he scored 60 points.... the Lakers were playing the MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES and won by 2 points!!! I don't know if I would be bragging about that too much.

Kobe is more than a scorer, he is a phenomenal two-way player. What really gets me is how some people can say he is just a ball hog and a scorer. Anyone who has ever followed the NBA, or even just played in an NBA fantasy league, would know he is one of the top five players, STATISTICALLY, year after year. But as to whether he is the greatest? I think you should wait until his career is over to be able to make a just comparison with other Hall-of-Famers.
A lot of haters hate him for his off-court troubles and because of the bad press, and sadly, he doesn't have MJ's cool and savvy nor Magic's charisma and smile to win them over.

Having the highest point output does not necessarily equate to the greatest player. Sure, Kobe can score. But he has made all of his teammates worse because of it. Lamar Odom is a shell of his former self because of having to play a very small second fiddle to Kobe. And that is why Kobe's team won't win another championship until he completely reassesses his role.

you can't believe how people can still disrespect kobe? i can't believe how people can still disrespect michael jordan...had he not gone to play baseball (because basketball 'set forth no challenges' for him) he would have won 8 titles in a row on a team with luc longley, toni kukoc and ron harper/dj armstrong as starters. his credentials can be listed for days.
kobe's the most talented basketball player alive right now but NOBODY will ever be a better player than MJ.

Kobe is an amazing player but notice how most of his stats are in one colum. almost every profecinal player can get that many points if they get the ball every time down the floor.

and the slaps and elbows don't help much either.

being best is not about being the top scorer every night...

it's about bringing in the rings, your team topping the standings...

you don't see that happening with kobe and the lakers...

on that argument, kobe is not, and will not be, the greatest player ever... stop kidding yourself.
