I don't know when someone is teasing me or just joking? 60% of the time I know but the other times I am not sure. Why am I so serious? How do I know when someone is just kidding me? How do I loosen myself up? How do I become less boring and more lively?

In case you are wondering, I am not that much of a nerd. I'm in cheerleading but I do hit my books.

That doesn't mean you're boring =P I think it has a lot to do with reading people...and of course the context of the situation. Sometimes it's just obvious someone's joking - I'm sure you don't have a problem in those situations. Other times, you have to really pay attention to a person's mannerisms and tone of voice. Try doing a little more people watching, or just make more eye contact with the people you interact with.

well, I am the same way. I grew up with a jokster for a father and my fiance is 95 % goofball 5% boy so it is hard to tell when people are joking. I would just say relax. If they have a smile on their face you should know their joking. Being serious may just be your personality and nothing is wrong about that!!!
