The Founders would be leading the revolt.

I believe that Benjamin Franklin, the archtype of our founding fathers if ever there was one, would say the following,...

...would they legislate to create a National ID Card using boimetrics?

"A piece of identification on paper that identifies me rather than me using it to identify myself? Seems like a God-sent blessing! We could do away with some of the inspectors! HOWever, I wouldn't want one myself. In time, it might know more about me that I do! No, best men write their own biographies than depend on paper cards to do it for them, however brief such things might be."

...would they establish a system that enabled digital monitoring of purchases, communication, travel and connections?

"Cameras! A wonderful invention, and worthy additions to the innovations that characterize our great country! You aren't going to put one of these in Mr. Jefferson's house, are you? I don't think his wife would stand for it! No, don't laugh, gentlemen, I think our young poster has a point! Do we want a government that can find out our every action and record it at will? Which of YOUR indiscrete actions would you willingly publisize or put into the hands of political opponents? I know I wouldn't. The beatings from many widow's hands would be my death! Let us keep this invention in the hands of the willing, the free, not those of us chained to the desks of honor. It's too tempting to use! Better, let us send some to the British! They could use a bit less 'stiffening'!"

...would they watch closely those who became aware of their game, and try hard to snuff them out?

"Our political opponents can be our strengths or our downfall as a nation. I have always urged you, gentleman all (or near as I can tell) that these political parties are dangerous and will serve to be the death...of someone. However tempting some of that might be, you know I have never joined any political leaning group (save where the British gave me no choice!) and have been claimed by half the denominations in the country. I have always been a great admirer of the Iroquis form of government, and the idea that we would willingly divide our government further with political divisions when we just finished driving one out, well, it seems somewhat foolish. What would it gain us, two groups constantly trying to destoy each other while both claiming they are the true Americans! Would we, in turn, have to resort to these cameras to ever defend ourselves from ourselves? Can we afford (well, not according to President Washington) to risk our newly-birthed nation by creating two governments within a government?"

ARE OUR CURRENT LEADERS THE SAME CALIBER AS THOSE WHO FRAMED THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE?...or are they the exact opposite?

"We, the leaders of our nation, are men of integrity, of honor, who prize the freedoms God has given us and wish the same for all men (do not look at me so, Sir, we have had this discussion and you have won it, for now). Any man who would willingly place himself at the mercy of having to deal with the likes of us day after day is a man of fortitude and courage! Let us treat them so. In the spirit of those same laws we have written, inspired by God (I make no claim for Mr. Jefferson's inspirations), let us treat such men with respect, as innocent of wrong-doing until proven in the court of law, and with discrete respect for the delicate touch they must have with state secrets and public welfare. We may not always agree on how best to serve this country, but serve this country we always will. No political division can change that, nor break this country asunder save we allow it to our shame."

Too bad he isn't here today. We could use a man like him, couldn't we?

The Founding Fathers would be looking for a tall tree and a short piece of rope. That is how justice was carried out in their time. The only difference, this time it would be white men dangling!

chaosjon…Said they would cry and then hang a lib for treason.

Are you calling Karl Rove a liberal? Because that's the only treasonous person I've seen that needs to be stretching a rope!

Is there anyone the same caliber as them these days? The founding fathers were some special men lead by God.

As for all those other questions we have no one else to blame but ourselves when you think about it. I believe the Government just sees these as ways to help with the security issues facing our nation.

People these days abuse their freedoms so frequently is there really any other way ?

I have no doubt that our founding fathers are watching us and wondering why we are not doing anything about this mess. They sacrificed life, limb, and social status to rebel against the motherland to secure for us unprecedented freedom. Surely they are wondering how we could be so ungrateful as to allow this nation to be taken captive by greedy and conspiring men.

Yep, you answered your own question. No doubt they would be vigorously plotting another American Revolution; this time to take back their hard-won nation from these thugs and racketeers called politicians.

No! Your current leaders are for emasculating the constitution and then say we are fighting to give others their freedom? Huh?

They have essentially eliminated habeas corpus from the constitution, they can pick you up, not charge you not bring a case before a grand jury, not try you in a civil court with your peers as jurors, and your only right of appeal, if you are ever tried, is to the people who convicted you! You have no right to a civilian attorney or access to the US Supreme Court if you are sentenced to death, or any other time!

The FBI has been lying to get peoples personal records in 700 documented cases! All documented on private citizens! They have been reading your e-mail and I assume Yahoo, and others, turns them over to the FBI.

The Military Commissions Act of 2006 strips these from your rights!

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amendment V

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amendment VI

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

YES to all your questions...due to the fact that our country has allowed all these foreigners in and we are no longer "safe" other than by the grace of God.
