An area of the Western Atlantic between Bermuda and Florida where ships and planes are said to have vanished without a trace. During the late 1960s, inspired largely by the volume by Vincent Gaddis, Invisible Horizons: True Mysteries of the Sea (1965), a popular controversy erupted around claims that since 1945 over 100 ships and planes and more than 1,000 people have disappeared in the Bermuda triangle. The area was also termed "the Hoodoo Sea," "the Devil's Triangle," "Limbo of the Lost," "the Twilight Zone," and "Port of Missing Ships." Charles Berlitz, who wrote several books on the triangle, speculated on the possibility of time warps, electromagnetic impulses from vanished civilizations, and extraterrestrial activities in UFOs.

The controversy was largely put to rest by Lawrence David Kusche in his book The Bermuda Triangle Mystery—Solved. Kusche destroyed the mystery in a case-by-case discussion of the alleged disappearances. Many had been solved, but popular writers were unaware of the relevant literature. Others happened outside of the triangle. Many had perfectly normal explanations. Since Kusche's book appeared, discussion of the Bermuda triangle has been confined to the fringe, though a few writers like Berlitz have tried to perpetuate interest.

Among the more interesting theories put forward to solve the alleged mystery was proposed by Russian oceanographer Vladimir Azhazha. In articles published in reputable scientific journals in the U.S.S.R. and the United States, Azhazha suggested that storms in the triangle area generate "infrasound"— low-frequency waves that are inaudible to human beings but that can be magnified by special conditions to become a force powerful enough to destroy ships and planes. Infrasound is a frequency lower than 16 cycles per second. In an interview in Moscow published in the National Enquirer (November 15, 1977), Azhazha stated that he believed infrasonic waves in the Devil's Triangle are amplified by such factors as changes in water temperature and a powerful undersea river running in an opposite direction to ocean currents.

Scientists at the Wave Propagation Laboratory of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) confirm that the power of infrasonic vibrations does increase in a storm and that sound can be carried thousands of miles. A NOAA research oceanographer stated that there are very sharp changes in the temperature of the water in the Devil's Triangle because of the Gulf Stream, and that different temperatures in water could cause differences in the intensity of infrasound, either increasing it or decreasing it.

In the National Enquirer, Azhazha stated: "An infrasonic sound wave can travel thousands of miles to find its victim in a calm sea. If the wave is gigantic enough, a crew can perish almost instantly. Death will come from stopping of the heart or destruction of the cardiovascular system." In the resulting panic, a ship's crew might even abandon ship. Azhazha claimed that the hull and masts of the ship would begin to vibrate in tune with the infrasound, cracking the ship and breaking it up.

My father was a navy officer, stationed at Jacksonville, Fla just east of the bermuda triangle. They would navigate through it every time they left port, and never had anything unusual happen.

I've agrued over the idea of it with my dad. I tend to like to think that there are so many shipwrecks under the surface, that it can mess up compasses. There is supposedly, an extra high amount of salt in the ocean there, as well, which could add to the whole thing.

However, my father, claims it to not be of any consequence, having sailed through it many times over the course of several years.

Bermuda's Triangle. Challenging question...bu not as I expected. There isn't anything paranormal in it. I think there are some tornadoes which cannot be seen with the naked eye.

Or perhaps, some scientists tells that there is a hole through the centre of the earth..a hole or something of that kind. People may get through it and appear in some other part of the world.

Other possibilites are that there is a super magnet in the Atlantic Ocean. It attracts all parts of iron or cobalt etc. Ships and planes when come near it, gets attracted & sink or

..there were some spirits in the lost city of Atlantis in the ocean. They wan't that people who come in the Bermuda's Triangle will stay with us forever. Who knows, there maybe spirits. In this world of people,..................

triangle of Ocean between 3 countries upon the Atlantic ocean. Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Fort Lauderdale. Ships, people and aeroplanes have been reported mysteriously disappearing off the face of the earth whilst travelling inside this triangle. It soon acquired the name "Devils Triangle",; but what actually was at play ?aliens? using this spot as their home base on earth. Maybe it really does contain a mystical vortex that sucks people down into another dimension. One of the most famous stories to ever surround the Bermuda Triangle is the mysterious disappearance of the Naval Air Flight 19.On December 5th, 1945, five Avenger torpedo bombers left the Naval Air Station at Fort Lauderdale. They never returned home.

The Avenger bombers contained 14 men, 13 of those were trainees in the last stages of their training along with Lt. Charles Taylor. The five pilots had been recently transferred from the Miami Naval Air Station. Lt. Taylor knew the Florida Keys well but had no knowledge of flying over the Bahamas which was the direction Flight 19 was headed in.Their mission on that day was for practice bombing at hens and Chicken Shoals fifty-six miles away. Once that was accomplished, the Avengers were to continue on eastward for another sixty-seven miles, then head north seventy-three miles. Following that they would turn southwest and head for home. In other words they were flying a triangular flight path through what would be called the Bermuda Triangle.
At 3.50pm that afternoon a pilot and his flight instructor, Lt. Robert Cox were about to land at Fort Lauderdale. They overheard a radio transmission

now there is another story;
------What to do when you spot one
There is no known defense against the Bermuda Triangle. In fact, everyone that's spotted it got eaten. This article is based on a series of facts from wayward sailors that were out at sea when the attacks happened during the fog. Having only 1 leg, a grey beard, and a scarred face, the source is known to be 100% correct
---Alternate Theory
It is believed by many experts that the phenomena often attributed to the Bermuda Triangle are in actuality caused by a nest of sugargliders devouring ships to get at their favored prey, humans
---Habitat
The area between Bermuda, Miami, the Bahamas, and that other place that no one has ever heard of. The Death Star, that was it. Also known to be spotted in the Arctic Ocean and New Michigan's Great Lakes, and in 1968 it was spotted in the "Zuiderzee", a large hole in the earth filled with water, situated in the Netherlands. It is also fairly often spotten in Loch Ness, there for most people confuse it with the Loch Ness monster. Mostly Asian tourists are confused when they make a photo of the monster, and then zoom in on it to find a horrific triangle instead of a dinosaur-like creature. However, scientists speculate that the Bermuda Triangle actually descends from the Loch Ness specie, but no genetical evidence has been found so far.
---The Bermuda Triangle eats just about anything that floats: ducks, very small rocks, rowing boats, surfers, cigarette stubs, camels, crashed UFO's, whatever. When it spots a prey, it shaves it's beard and uses telekinetic 1337 skills to create an expanding hypermagnetic field, jamming all communication (This tactic would later on be used in World War MMXIV, when the USA accidentally bombed their own nuclear facilities). After the ship has lost communcation with the outer world, it emerges from the water and issues its evil laugh. It then grabs the prey in its grubby hands and eats it, making it disappear from the radar. Once a penguin managed to escape, but it had teeth marks all over it. Triangular teeth marks.
