not answer questions that appear homophobic? They only make me angry because they are unjust and insulting. Then because I get angry and I will think things that are just as insulting. Am I coward for not sticking up for myself and others who are gay also?
I just would like to know a way to do that without stooping down to their level.

Stoop to their level means for example if they are abusing and insulting you, you then turn around and do the same back to them.

Matt - I never said anything about not respecting their opinion, there is a difference between opinion and just plain abuse and insults which should never be respected no matter what the circumstance or situation.

you're not a coward . . . just do what you feel comfortable doing and your instincts tell ya, forget what anyone thinks about you. Like that old saying goes, "you gotta chose your battles wisely"! Some people have deep rooted beliefs and are never going to change . . . why waste so much energy on a negative thing?

I believe that sometimes the best solution is just to walk away.
And even though you have all these thoughts and a fight inside of you, perhaps acting them out to those who insult you isn't exactly the best way to deal with things.
You already did one good thing: you posted this question which is I believe is a way of acting upon these feelings. Perhaps your good friends and/or/which is a support group would help.
And when you walk away, you do not dignify their questions but remember that some questions are actually valid. Some may just come across unjust and insulting for us because we aren't truly comfortable with the situation. Perhaps you could put a stop to their bigotry but do it your way and do it for yourself.
This question has become surprisingly introspective for me because I'm usually confrontational. I hope you work things out.
Best!

I don't waste my time answering "questions" that are purposely posted to offend. I go with the RAMO policy. (report and move on) If it is a real genuine question that someone seems sincere about asking and isn't insulting, then I will answer. No you are not stupid for not responding. To respond is just giving them what they want. I refuse to do it and if everyone else would, maybe they would go away and leave this catagory to real questions. I know that it's hard to turn the other cheek sometimes but I feel it is exactly what we should do.

OMG i know, some people are plain stupid. I don't know why? seems they were raised by hienas or something, what kind of parents they had?
Some can not understand the meaning of tolerance and diversity at all and just hate.
Just do what I do, ignorance is here and A LOT.......so just respond with the same ignorance so they get the point......
like for example.........do you have burritos in Colombia too?
mmm no..... do you eat possums?
other one would be to just educate them.

You have to pick and choose. Some people are truly confused or honestly curious. You shouldn't waste your time on people who are trying to insult you though because all they want to do is make you look foolish by conversing with you. If they show you respect show them respect. Keep in mind all people aren't as smart as you ;)

A good way would be to try to educate the ignorant sluts in a civil and kind manner without sttoping to their level: you can kindly offer advice then pick some like-minded friends to make fun of their mispelled and ignorant comebacks.
BTW the person above me is an idiot: you are in no way dumb and he is just a homophobic pile of ****.

No you are not.
People forget that you have feelings like everybody else. They don't see you, they see your lifestyle. This is wrong on their part.
However, as a Christian, if I am asked a question pertaining to your lifestyle I will only state what is in the Bible, and leave it at that.
So I apologize for all my brothers and sisters that acted unlovely towards you as a person.

perhaps intellectually over-matched, but not necessarily a coward. respect every ones belief, just as you ask them to respect yours.
