Yes, years back & i will never try it again ! The guy made a pass at me, at 60 miles/hour on the high way. I punched him in the face, the car went into a spin, we almost got killed & i got out kicking his *** still. I had similar situaton few years before it, but i thought it would never happen twice, but it did.
I learned my lesson the second time !
People don't take Hitch-Hikers out of their good hearts. They do it for a reason. Either for sex or robe u, but 90% of the time for sex. They think they could get some & if ur a hitch-hiker ur poor, desprate & easy !!!

Hitched in 1976, my 69 dodge dart broke down and I needed a ride home. Gave a ride in 75 on a Saturday am ,5 above 0 to a guy who had walked all night trying to get home he was 6 miles short, so I drove him the rest of the way.

I used to hitch-hike when I was younger. The last time I hitched a ride was with a trucker. No details -- but I thought he was going to kill me. He actually never laid a hand on me but he was a scary guy. I quit after that.

i have never hitchhiked but have picked someone up. now i never really condone this unless they are someone that you know and in this case it was. it was one of my old high school friends. i seen them walking on the side of the road and gave them a lift. they would have had to walk 10 miles if it wasn't for me. turns out they were having some hard times and their vehicle was broke down and they were walking home from work. the ironic thing about this is that it was around christmas time so it was like i was meant to be there for him to pick him up. divine intervention i guess. well that's my story. good luck.

I hitchhiked all over so. Ca. I never sprained my thumb once either. Nowadays, I wouldn't even consider it. Too many living brain donors out there.

I have when the company truck blew a tire. People don't mind picking you when you're driving a Dorito truck.

yes, it was for spring break in mexico. the guy bought us beers and we drank the whole way to cancun.
