So many of us disparage what others think would be best for the country. What do you think would be best? What do you think we need to do in order to make this country great and heal the divisive wound that exists within it?
Note: I am NOT looking for blame game. First answer I get that says "Get rid of all Cons/Libs or Dems/Repubs" I'm closing down the question altogether.
This is for dialogue. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the matter. I head so much hatred and anger over the direction the country is going. Now I'd like to hear some answers.

First Poster: I'm not asking who's to blame.
I'm asking for what people think needs to be done.
Stop the hate on both sides for a moment, quit the partisan nonsense and give me a real answer please.

Education - especially in the training of minds to become curious, exploratory and creative. Inspire them to do research, especially in the areas and subjects foreign to their own little communities. If one doen't understand or know what people outside our own world do, one can't always feel comfortably safe or comfortably well-armed with knowlege. Take the Renaissance Era for instance and explore how so many people in so many nations were enriched with leadership and importance.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renaissance
That era was the greatest era that saw advancement in so many great achievements.
The Reformation era, which followed the Renaissance, subsequently led to social and political chaos, disputes, wars, and uncertainties including Civil Wars, the execution of Charles I, the Commonwealth and the Restoration.

We should learn from history and learn that religious conflicts and separation tend to lead nations in wrong directs and into chaos and wars.
Any government which promotes religious reformation tends to bring chaos within its nation.

We are leaving the battle fronts and bringing our infantrymen house. We are combating present conflicts via intelligent negotiations. We are bringing the financial system ahead once more. It will take so much time to undo the harm introduced through the years however we're on our means out.

I would, quite seriously, like to see some laws applied state by state.
Abortion, homosexuality, prayer in schools, etc. Let people live with others of like minds and morals.
As it is, we are forced to share with those we consider immorals and degenerates. Who can be happy with that?
Not a very Constitutional concept, but none the less, an honest answer.

i agree with education. we need to make sure that people are educated on the facts of the way our system works, so that they know their rights and they know how to obtain information for participating in the government. also, if people are informed as to the laws of the land, and of how the legal system works. An honest review of our history, using source documents, as well as the history of other countries and our role in that. that would be a good start.

A leader who has shown willingness to work with all parites CONSISTENTLY, not just for some bill or law that anyone in their right mind would pass, but who would be willing to compromise with opposers of his/her ideas.
