Just wondering what the price in Hollywood was to fund these costumes in 1960's dollars.

The costumes did not look all that expensive. In some scenes, it was just ordinary clothing, as of today. But the real money must have gone for the special effects, which were
utterly convincing. And the picture at the time was used for a
druggie "trip" for people high on LSD as they were watching it.
