Would you be offended if someone said to your face "Wow you're small, short and thin, you don't occupy any space, you eat a lot and yet you're thin"

I was mighty p1ssed off. Would you have been p1ssed off too?

Well, if they said it like that then yeah. But maybe if they'd said it a different way, it might not have been so offensive.

I can't say I've had that problem myself, statuesque broad that I am but I can see how that would be offensive. People should be more mindful of the effects of their words on others.

For example a former boyfriend of mine and I were on the couch watching Monty Python. I was sort of half-reclined on the couch and he was well... sort of half-reclined against me. After a minute or two he turned his head and with a worried look asked if he was too heavy. I assured him, "Stay where you are. I'm fine," nearly adding, "you're light as a feather," but decided against it. Even though I meant it as a compliment and with all affection it probably would have hurt his feelings.

Awhile back a "large" person looked at me and said "dang your skinny" so naturally I said "and dang your fat". I don't usually say things like that, but I get sick of people thinking it's ok to call a small person skinny. I find that as offensive as the large people do the word fat.

no i would take it as a compliment because its better to be small & short & thin and not occupy alota space & eat alot and still be thin instead of being big & tall & fat & they say you occupy alotta space & that you eat alot and that it shows

It annoys me sometimes, but I've gotten it so much that I just brush it off now. Seriously. Do people need to judge my size and compare it to how much I eat? It's just the way I am.

Nope! At 250 lbs. I would consider that a compliment.

For me, the situation sounds... racial. Since Japanese are typically short and small and "don't occupy much space", I would be suspicious....
