~I have found that individual development is a highly communal and social thing which discourages uniqueness and has led to the harmonious world in which we live, where everyone is not only equal but is essentially interchangeable with the next person. But you already knew that because if I did you necessarily must have.

Now, if you are talking about a housing development, that is a color on a different horse. You can't build a log cabin in the middle of a condo cluster.

This writer understands your question pertains to ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. The yardsticks and definitions of Economic Development cannot be same for a country like the USA and another nation like Afghanistan While the US would talk and define their development in terms of Space exploration, leisure availability, and the like...., the newly emerging Afghanistan, where even basic education is yet to take shape, would have different connotation. So also, in a country like India, where 600 million people do not earn even Rs.5000 per annum; where 200 million children do not have proper nutrition and even a semblance of education facilities; where even the people with purchasing power have Water shortage, Power shortage, Sanitation facility shortage, shortage of housing, shortage of medical facilities ... the yardsticks and definitions are to be totally different from those of the US.

In general, thus, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PERTAINS TO THE INCREASED AND QUALITATIVE AVAILABILITY OF THE DIFFERENT SOCIETAL NEEDS (SOME OF WHICH WERE PRESENTED ABOVE) WITHIN A MUNDANE AND DYNAMIC WORLD.

Your question is on the possible connection between INDIVIDUALITY and Economic Development. It must be noted here that the concept of Individuality pertains to the FREEDOM WITHIN WHICH EVERY INDIVIDUAL COULD PERFORM INDEPENDENTLY, WITHIN THE SOCIETY. Although INDIVIDUALITY does not apparently affect or effect (directly or indirectly) the basic dynamics of Economic Development, it should be recognized that Economic Development contributes to the QUALITY OF INDIVIDUALITY. For example, we would observe that there has been a very highly perceptible change in the INDIVIDUALITY OF WOMEN IN INDIA over the last 50 years - a result of Economic Development.

Having said that, we must also note the actual DYNAMICS of Economic Development. Essentially, it is an EXPONENTIAL MATHEMATICAL FUNCTION, wherein RATE OF PROGRESS IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE DEVELOPMENT ITSELF. Stretching this further, we may also conclude that there could be some possible relationship on the Economic Development, when greater number of people become highly independent, economically. Not much work seems to have been done on this aspect.

Development is growth. One cell becomes two, two becomes four, and when these cells divide, they differentiate. Every human being is an individual and is not like any other. Therefore, development itself is individuality.
