I haven't heard of anybody getting caught recently. Are you planning to ride one?

trespassing. Usally just a fine. Unless you break in to the car. Then you got a possible theft of interstate commerce. Just stay in the open ones or on the platform of a tanker car. You wont get in to much trouble.

I know a lot of people who travel that way or did when they were younger. It depends on the person who catches them. Sometimes they got thrown off, sometimes fined or even spent a few nights in jail.
