wow... i don't think pigs are animals that you can have in a city.
and i don't think there are different types... but if there are, they still shouldn't be kept as pets in a city. they are animals meant to be in farms.

The best pigs are the small ones unless it's a midwestern city, then I would suggest a very large pig. Pigs come in two sizes that I know of, large and small. Is this a mail order pig?

Not a good idea to keep a pig in a city unless you have lots of garden. You should never keep one pig on it's own they are gregarious and like the company of other pigs.
You feed pigs on special pig food as it contains all the vitamins they need.

Other than a Guinea Pig?
A miniature Vietnamese Pot-bellied Pig. I have one but he is not a miniature.
Mine is 2 yrs. old and is a neutered male. He weighs about 100 lbs, is a foot and a half tall and two and half feet long. He is house trained, always comes when called, follows me around, will lie down, sit, bough down, loves a bellie rub and loves to be brushed. He is always talking to me and is just like having a dog around except pigs are smarter. His name is Bacon.
The minis are identical in temperament and brains just A LOT smaller. I've seen them less than a foot high and about 16-17 inches long - probably weigh 25-30 lbs. You won't believe how intelligent they are.
The only draw back - short legs so they can't climb stairs.

THERE IS SUCH A THING AS A MINI PIG. PIGS ARE VERY VERY SMART. THEY CAN BE TRAINED TO DO MANY THINGS SUCH AS, FETCH, SIT, WALK ON A LEASH, AND BE POTTY TRAINED. THEY DO MAKE NOISE AND SMELL A LITTLE, BUT CAN BE BATHED. THEY EAT ANY THING BUT NATURAL VEGGIES WITH SOME OATS WOULD BE IDEAL. THEY SELL MINI PIGS IN AUSTRALIA.

A little pot-belly pig.. they're cute and you can even house train them. My brother have a pot-belly named Petunia... she's precious!
They eat veggies, some dog food, and make good places to put some of your veggie leftovers. But don't let it get too fat... thats sad.
