Quentin Crisp was "The Naked Civil Servant," whose memoirs were made into a film and who in later life became a superb commentator on gay culture and 20th century life. He was a dear, dear man, and at times a bit of a pain.

I'll add that he was the absolute best dressed little old man that I have ever seen, with his suits, ascots and hats. My goal is to be as fashionable when I'm 70 as he was. What a trend-setter.
