Over all of the seasons, Matthew Perry's (Chandler) weight fluctuates a lot. He was addicted to prescription drugs and was in and out of rehab. When he was off the drugs, he ate to compensate. The last weight fluctuation after rehab was quelled by a mandatory diet. The producers of the show offered to fire him if he did not lose the weight. Jennifer Anniston served as a trainer during filming to help him lose the weight.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Monica was a crappy wife and didn't feed him enough.
She mistakenly thought it was "the way to a WOMAN's heart is through her stomach". Poor Chandler, should have stuck with Joey at least Joey knew what a good sandwich was!!!

If you go back through all the seasons, you'll notice how his weight fluctuates from thin to chubby. I read that he had a drug problem.
