I love music, and am looking for something new. Any ideas?

Regina Spektor is a really unique, really phenomenal new singer. Her newer album, "Begin to Hope" is an awesome record. My favorite songs off it are "That time" and "Arpes Moi". You might have heard the opening track, "Fidelity".
Her older record, "Soviet Kitsch" is a little rougher than the stuff she put out, but I like it just as much, if not more.
If it turns out you like her, try out Bic Runga if you haven't already. She's big in New Zealand, but I haven't met any other people who are into her in the states. "Beautiful Collision" is my favorite album of hers.

Depends on what youre into I suppose...
If you like country, the Dixie Chicks new album is actually pretty good. I didnt like any of their older stuff, but theyre gettin better.
Theres also Alison Krauss if youre into bluegrass-country music.
I dont know...I'm not very much into the music that comes out these days, with a few exceptions. Mostly I love older stuff. When it comes to female singers, Janis Joplin is the absolute best. If youve never heard of her, check her out. Maybe youll like her.

Wow. I'm suprised noone has mentioned Corinne Bailey Rae or the solo debut of Sia from the group Zero Seven. You might also like Bitter:Sweet. The girl in the group has a great jazzy voice =).

It depends on what you like. If you like pop, you might try Shakira (such a good voice!)
Or if you like indie, even though it's in Spanish, Natalia Lafourcade has some cool stuff.
Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek has an interesting voice; they do contemporary acoustic stuff...
