In general, I think a lot more left-handed hitters have fluid, "good-looking" swings. I can name Griffey, Palmeiro, Bonds, and so many others.

Is it the camera angle? The fact that they have upper-cut swings to hit breaking pitches? Or because when they finish their swing, they're naturally facing 1B?

If you want the real reason why lefties swings look so sweet its really pretty much a matter of angles. Not camera angles, but pitching angles. Since the vast majority of pitchers are right handed the ball is being delivered at an angle that moves from the end of the bat down to the barrel of the bat. Making an adjustment to a breaking pitch is simply a matter of dropping the bad head slightly and continuing to follow through. The left handed batter is stepping toward the direction of the ball giving him a better opportunity to get the heart of the bat on the ball, better contact better looking swing. With a right handed batter the ball is moving away from the batter, which forces the batter to adjust across the plate creating a physical momentum that is less fluid. To combat that element a right handed batter needs to have exceptional bat speed or longer than average arms to create the fluidity of the swing without having to move across. A perfect example of that type of swing is Albert Pujols or David Wrights. If you still aren't sure, simply watch how a lefthanded batter looks when a lefthanded pitcher is on the mound. Not so smooth. The righthanded batter suddenly looks pretty damn good.

Being a lefty hitter myself, Ive notice this myself and it started young when I was about 14. At the level where the big leaguer do it so natural, is just the yrs of swinging it so much its second nature by the time there are in the bigs. Its just natural like a lefty pitcher that has movement on his pitch. Its natural movement. Lefty hitters have a natural flow to get to the ball! Lefties Rock!!!

Since lefties have a natural upper cut swing, the arc of the bat makes it look so much more beautiful.

This may sound stupid, but it may also be the camera angles on tv as well. But facing first base after the swing natually lets them take a step with their right foot after the swing.
