There will be about 20 people, I want to keep the cost low and make it a nice time for all. Also our home is not the largest! Any suggestions. We live in MN so no outdoors

I would choose a color for a theme... like blue.. get small blue plates and napkins.. (Walmart has them for $1 each pkg.. and each pkg. had 20 plates...) then I would but like a 12 pk of dr. pepper, and a 12 pk. of coke... Or etc... so lets see that would bring it to about 12 dollars.. and get a 1/4 sheet of cake from the walmart bakery for $20.00.. Then if you wanted to buy streamers you could.. they are like 50cents a pk.. get like 4 pk... blue.. then on the cake put something simple like blue top with white letters saying happy 1rst .... we usually do this every year and spend roughly $30.00 on the party.. it looks great and turns out great.... (I have a 2 1/2 year old son)

If you wanted to do a character theme it would cost the same... just go look at walmart for everything... I would recommend pooh, or maybe baby's 1rst .... have the party last maybe an hour..
and have it at your house....

Other idea.. cancel the streamers but keep everything else and do the party at burger king or MacDonalds.. you will have to call and schedule first though.... but that would work out fine.... and if you wanted to, everyone could just purchase a soda there instead of buying 12 pks....

Really just keep it simple and short, they won't remember it, and it should not be stressed over.. And remember most importantly, plan for the unexpected... even the most well behaved child can get overwhelmed too, and start acting up or getting cranky... that is why my first opinion is to keep it at your house this time around so they will be familar and comfortable with their surroundings....

Good Luck!!!

A cake for your baby to smash and a cake for anyone else to eat. A simple meal and presents. You don't need any games, he is too young to get it. Keep it informal and fun. It should only be an hour long, two hours at the longest. Your baby won't be able to take much more than that.

Bake the cake yourself(make 2..one larger for the guests and a smaller chocolate for your son) keep the dinner simple...Salads, maybe a lasanga, or if you don't mind running outside you could BBQ at the door and have hot dogs and hambugers. Or you could just order pizza's or make them yourself if you think you'll have the time...Whatever you want...if you make the meal yourself it's always cheaper. A little more work but lower costs.
