OK let's get 'real' for a few milliseconds, shall we ?
The USA has a debased fiat currency, which, should the world oil markets choose to switch to another currency for their dealings, will collapse.
The majority of the world's easily accessible oil reserves are in the Middle East ( include Caspian Sea region in this ).
Where and what is Iraq ?
In the middle of the Middle East, and one of the world's largest oil producers.
Anyone not getting this ?
Oil is the great convertible currency of the world for the time being. Those who control it control just about everything.
It is the USA's intention to control everything, hence it's constant trumpeting that it is the world's only 'Super-Power', and it's assumption of the role of 'World Policeman'.
It has, with the illegal invasion of Iraq, swept aside International Law, the Geneva Conventions, and has completely ignored the International Criminal Court. It disavows the Kyoto accords, and refuses to set any kind of lead on environmental issues.
It has become, in short, a rogue state.
I do not believe that this is the will of the American people.
So what are you going to do about it ?
Or should we be looking for a new Mr. Gibbons ?

the Us would love for it to be a pro-west government of course. However, we can only do what the people want. I guess it would depend on whether the Shiites or the Sunnis get power as to what will happen when we draw out ( which will be determined through the democracy hopefully ). Overall though, I think the US wants a new democracy that could potentially be a new ally in the future, not another European style country.

Ultimate goal, seems to be to create confusion, chaos and instability that will guarantee their presence and ultimately their control. No matter how good the intent is, the political goal here is unachievable and very short-sighted.
What a waste of human resources in the name of freedom , and justice for all. My heart goes out to the soldiers and their families. We support them with all our hearts. What we do not support is the government's policies and political ambitions.

It seems like they want a pro-US government, and will not accept anything less than that.
The govt keeps trying to claim it's spreading democracy, but the past decade has shown that the US doesn't accept any foreign democratic election if it doesn't agree with the results.

because of the fact that is not substantial what a majority of the inhabitants needs, purely what the leaders prefer. The chief of Iran has set himself against united states of america. for this reason, "Bushco," as you call it, has set its ire against Iran.
