Have area codes been changed in the San Diego area within the past year or so.
I have been unsuccessful in reaching someone with an 858 area code and am thinking maybe the area code was changed?

I have had no problems locally in San Diego with any numbers in 858 or 619. I recently switched home and office numbers in the area, and had no problems and lots of choices.
I have not been able to find any news about any proposed changes to the 858 area code at this time. We've been pretty consistent here for quite a while.

858 has been stable for a while. It's 760 they're thinking of messing with.
