No you cant go into labor without losing your mucous plug. Funny question though, my little sister was at the doctors yesterday asking the same question. they told her a lot of women lose it and don't realize they have. So they don't ever think about and while going to the bathroom it would come out and you wouldn't even know. They say not all of it has blood in it so when you would wipe you would think it was regular discharge from the pregnancy. hope this helped.

yes .. you may never see you mucos plug come out sometime the dissolve over time - you may see it when you wipe.(most women never see it thank god ) And you will know when you are in labour if you are feeling like you braxtons have moved to contraction then call you locall hospital and they will talk with you through a couple. but if you can still talk breathing regualy but a little deeper and aren't in alot of pain they may tell you to stay home if you think you are definitely in labour and if thecontractions irractic that doesn't mean you aren't close so if you feel like you need to go to the hospital go follow you instincts.

Yes. With my first child I was in and out of labor for 4 weeks. But you can guarantee babies not far behind when you do lose you plug.

Sometimes you never notice that your plug is gone. I didn't with my first and third pregnancy--only my second. Also you can be having contractions but not dilating so your plug stays in.
