your vagina has bacteria in it that is suppose to be there. if there is to little of it it will cause yeast infections. by flushing it with douche you are flushing the good bacteria out while possibly presenting bad bacteria that is not suppose to be in there which can cause problems. douching is not good for you at all, it is why so few women use them now, the ones that do probably dont realize the risks. your body cleans your special area out itself, even over cleaning down there while in the shower can be bad for you causing yeast infection and other fun stuff.

I am a 27 year old woman and i have never douched in my life. I have always heard that it causes infections but here is some info:

Is douching safe?
Most doctors and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) suggest that women steer clear of douching. All healthy vaginas contain some bacteria and other organisms called the vaginal flora. The normal acidity of the vagina keeps the amount of bacteria down. But douching can change this delicate balance. This may make a woman more prone to vaginal infections. Plus, douching can spread existing vaginal infections up into the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries.

in a way yes. The actual Douche and the process itself does not cause infections. but once you douche - your body kinda forces you to do it again and if you don't you are more able to get a yeast infection from it.

I douched once, and let me tell you, I got stuck with 2 different infections at once! You really dont need to douche, your body does it itself. If you want, talk to your doctor about the best one to use.

Yes it can. Douching too much can actually wash away the bacteria that is good. The vagina cleans itself, no need to try and do its job.

i don't know about causing infections, but it's not good for you. your "womanly parts" have their own cleaning system. when you douche, it throws it your Ph balance off.
