Well, this girl has been harrassing me for almost 2 years. She told her mom that she was staying the night with me [ i didn't know about it], the next day her mom calls and asks where she was at. I told her that the night before she said something about going 50 miles away from where we live. Ever since then, she has been my enemy. She threatened to beat me up, she threatened to do it while i had my little sister with me. She calls my house. I admit I have a fear of her. I have never said anything back and I have tried walking away. For the last year I have not been able to go outside alone. I hate it! My mom refuses to tell the police because the girl does not care. The girl has already been to jail 3 times. Should i take self- defense classes?? Any advice?? Thanks

call the police yourself and tell them that the girl is harassing you.

You should probably call the police (even the non-emergency line) and let them know what is going on. As for a self defense class, it never hurts to know about self defense. I took a short class at the community college and I think it was one of the most beneficial classes that I have taken. I have not been in a situation where I needed to use self defense but at least I know what to do if a situation should ever occur.

Talk to you mom and tell her that you do not feel comfortable with her and if it's really bad than consider a restraining order. Reguarding the self-defense class, I would for sure take it. I've taken some before and they are very helpful and fun! Thankfully, I've never had to use my self-defense moves on anyone, but it is good to know...just in case

Its up to you. If you don't feel safe going outside alone then you probably should. Take the classes thinking its for your protection and not for beating this girl up. Plus, knowing some self defense moves won't hurt.

ok, how do i put this...

TAKE SELF DEFENSE CLASSES!!!!!

No matter where you live, whether it's Long Beach or some snotty crime-free place, you should always know how to defend yourself. It's just not safe to go around not knowing that kind of stuff.
If I may, the bast kind of defense classes are boxing or a chinese kind of defense thing.(karate, ty kwan do, etc.) I have been taking boxing for about two years, and if I ever get into truoble, I can always back myself up. (Luckily, it's not happend yet).
So basically, take the classes, and you will be happy you did.

P.S.: You should do something about that girl. Just hearing about her just makes me want to beat her!!

It could never hurt to take self defense classes. So far it just seems as though she is all talk. She seems to just kiind of bully you, am i correct? You didn't do anything wrong, but you might as well take some classes just for your own safety. Try to avoid the fighting though, i mean, don't start it just because you know you can fight, but if she ever throws the first punch at least u will know how to handle it. Good luck girly!

I found out when I was younger that if you stand up to someone that they usually back down. I never took self defense classes, but thinking back now I should have. I believe that everyone needs to know how to protect themselves in bad situations. These bullies just need to be stood up to, they need to know that they are not to be feared.

learning how to protect yourself is always a good idea, just don't let it give you a false sense of security. As for the threats you need to have it documented by the school or the police so that you have it as back up should something happen

umm... call the police AND take the self defense classes. both will come in handy if in fact her words ever turn to action. talk to her mother (i wouldn't suggest this unless as an ultimately, finalize, last resort).

Why not call the police yourself and have an AVO taken out against her?

You shouldn't have to live in fear!
