Can't it get rid of the odors?

Embalming can still be done to a body that is decomposing, but the results may not be as desirable as usual. Depending on the severity of the decomposition, the smell may or may not be present afterwards.
And for whoever said Anna Nicole Smith could not be embalmed, you are incorrect, she most definitely WAS embalmed.

No. The embalming process is severing the main arteries and draining all the blood from the body. Embalming fluid is then pumped in the arteries to replace the blood. If the body is decomposed, there would be no way to do the embalming process. As a matter of fact, this happened to Anna Nicole Smith. She decomposed and could not be embalmed.

no. embalming fluid is used to help preserve a body for as long as possible.Sadly it is too late once they start to decompose.

yes, the body is decomposed by the time they embalm them anyway, plus it is to take away the smell...i know because of personal reasons....my uncle passed
