What reaction are you talking about?

The main way to make SO2 is to burn S in excess O2. S + O2 -> SO2.

Dissolved SO2 in water does form a weak sulfurous acid, HSO2OH or H2SO3.

worked in a copper mine......so I know that SO2...when mixed with water...gives you H2SO4...sulphuric acid...

you should try breathing the stuff.......it burns something cronic

seeme the moisture in your nasal passages turns it to acid..
