I was induced (well actually, I was having real labor contractions that morning so I probably would've ended up at the hospital anyway) with my first, and when I started I was at about 2.5cm. If you are already dilating and thinned, then you should have no problems at all. It sped my labor up, but I had an epidural so I did not feel the contractions. I was in labor for 5 hours, and everything went great. Since you are due any minute, it's not going to take much to induce your labor, and I bet it will be just fine! Good luck and congrats!!

I was induced with all three of my children. My first labor was the worst. I pushed for an eternity! I only had to push twice with the other two. I wouldn't have it any other way. I loved knowing exactly when I was going to have the baby. My doctor gives the epidural before you even feel your contractions. It was virtually pain free (I'm not kidding). Of course, I experienced the usual pain after delivery.

I went into labor on my own at about 4:30 am. I sat at home timing my contractions for an hour. They were 6 mins apart and lasting about 45 seconds. When I got to the hospital, I was dilated to a 2. They observed me for an hour, but for some reason, I couldn't feel the contractions anymore. They were registering on the monitor, but I wasn't feeling them. When they checked me an hour later, I was dilated to a 3, so they admitted me. I sat in labor and delivery for 2 hours and nothing had changed. I still wasn't feeling the contractions and they weren't showing up on the monitor. The nurse came in and said that my contractions had stopped, but she called my doc and he said to give some pitosin. I didn't feel the contractions right away, but when I did start to feel them, they were really hard and extremely painful. They had to put an electrode on the baby's head because the contractions still weren't registering on the monitor. I waited for about 3 hours then got the epidural. I fell asleep for what I was told about 4 or 5 hours. When I woke up, they checked me again and I was at a 6, then they broke my water. They had to keep shutting off the pitosin because the baby's heart rate would drop with every contraction. It had gotten down to a 38. They told me that I would have to have to have an emergency c-section because his head had gotten stuck in my pelvis and he was facing my belly instead of my back. About a half hour later, they wheeled me into the O-R and Alexander Garrick was born at 10:10 pm.
Hopefully you don't have any of the same problems and I wish you the best of luck.

i was dialated to 2 already when they induced me with potocin.(7am) it took about 2-3 hours before i could feel the contractions although they were regerstering on the monitor. at noon they broke my water. about an hour after that the contractions were comming quick and hard. they were only 1-1 1/2 minuets apart. the nurse told me i was in active labor and should be at a 8-9cm for how hard my contractions were, but i was only at 3cm. finally around 8 they decided they were going to do a c section, becuase baby wasnt tolerating labor, and my blood pressure was up. at 8:40pm my beautiful daughter was born.

I was induced 3 months ago and my son was out in 5 hours. It sped everything up for me. The contractions come faster but you get an epidural faster so it's not that bad. I loved being induced. I was in and out. Congrats and hope it goes well

I was induced for two of my labors and actually prefer it to going into labor naturally. I got my medication to manage pain. When I went into labor with my daughter naturally I didn't get any meds and I ripped before they could do the epistotomy so it was a nightmare

I was 2 cm for 3 weeks and they gave me Potossin and I was still 2 cm for 5 hrs after that. I went into active labor at 10:02pm and had my daughter the next day at 2:46 pm. That was with them pumping me full of potossin. I thought it was supposed to speed things along. Things didnt progress untill I was 6 cm then it seemed to happen fast. I had awful contractions but they gave me the epidural and I got some sleep and no pain...

My youngest child I was induced and the labor was a lot quicker but as soon as they gave me platoeson, me contactions hit very quickley I mean VERY quickly and the pain was there just as quick. I mean the nurse was not a the nurses station and I was burning up my buzzer for my epidural. Get it right after they start you on platoeson. Is my advise. Hope this helps!!! Good Luck and you are in my prayers is this your 1st or second child? Don't let this scare you this is just what happend to me!!!
