My fiance and I live in Cali. * Northern* and it's waaay too expensive for us to raise a family here. We want to move to a nice area that's clean and affordable. I want to stay away from Southern states.
We tried AZ, but people were VERY racist there. And for people who say ignore racism, no offense, but you've probably never experienced it first hand. When it affects your ability to find a job, go shopping, etc; it's a huge problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?? We've thought about Canada?
any other ideas???
Thanks

Remember we want to live in an INEXPENSIVE area people! :]
My fiance is white and wants to live in a place where there is diversity!

Well, I guess I should mention it's more obvious and stronger in other areas of the nation than not. I mean in Phoenix alone, people were downright going up in my face and staring! Absolutely outragous!

I understand you can't avoid it completely, but where is it more accepting than not?

I was born and raised in Indiana and you might want to stay away from the smaller towns. They don't like anybody who hasn't been there for 3 generations. Indianapolis would be worth a look see . The people are nice the town isn't to big lots of jobs and not overly expensive. Try a vacation there for a week or so. Good luck I know things are changing but it is a slow process.

Listen, I was in an inter-racial marriage for many many years. No matter where you go, you are going to run into people who are not going to like you because of your decision to love a person of another race....I think it is ashame in this day and age people are still so ugly and so mean about this but they are. Yes, it does effect you big time. People have no idea but I know first hand what you are going through, but do not let these people break you up. So, it does not matter where you may go, I know I've lived east, west, north and south and where-ever there is a racist you are going to find them and it's shocking at times who they are. But anyway, I can only wish you luck and happiness.

Stay away from the South and the Plains states for sure. I live in metro Detroit in Michigan, and interracial couples aren't even noticed here, but our economy is so bad that I wouldn't recommend it. I would try larger cities like Chicago, Minneapolis and Toledo. Urban areas tend to be progressive and open to diversity.

i comprehend for a certainty, there are extra effective than 5 black men in ALL of Canada. Why are some human beings so in touch concerning to the colour, or coloration of yet another persons pores and skin? Is there some concerning why you 2 combat, and the colour of pores and skin? I continuously theory human beings fought over recommendations and proposals, adjustments in opinion. As for interracial couples, I strongly have faith human beings might desire to in basic terms marry human beings. we don't prefer any Vulcans, Klingons, Romulans, OR filthy Ferengi wandering around OUR Planet!! not "on" something, purely pointing out the absurd, via being absurd. human beings with human beings= solid human beings with extraterrestrial beings= undesirable purely supplying you with Sh!T, no offence meant.

If you live in the Bay Area then yeah it's expensive. But the outskirts are much cheaper.
Your best chance for diversity is to move to a big city or stay in CA.
NYC is pretty diverse. But more expensive then CA! lol

In my small corner of Tennessee you would probably get a few looks every now and then, I have never heard of or believe that it would affect anything such as finding employment.

I wouldn't try Tennessee or Kentucky...folks can be pretty narrow minded in these areas.
