i doubt it was true that he was afraid to ever leave the island so he blew up his only way. he could just stay there and not ever get on the sub, but now he ruined it for jack and gave ben exactly what he wanted.
If i was in his position, i would punch ben right where the tumor used to be, then cut the wound back open and then i'd mix some salt in with lemon juice and pour it into his open back. then...nevermind

Yes but more importantly how did they get his father onto the island? and whats with that box they were talking about.
They couldnt let Jack leave the island hes one of the main people. So John blowing up the sub was a good twist to keep Jack in the show

he blew up the submaine because if he went back home i dont think that he would be able to walk and if he's on the island he is able to walk, i have no idea why that is but it is. Kinda stoped watching the show but started again last night.

I think he doesn't want to leave the island because he can walk again. He believes he is meant to be there.
