I see it that way, in so many moral and political perspectives.

You're trying to provoke us into gang-spanking you. Careful, Lily.
I'm feeling intolerant for your disobedient attitude.

Tolerance has become the liberal God... How many freaking times can I say YES. I'm all for getting along with people but the PC movement is pathetic. Half of the US lives in fear of the other half, which is looking to start a fight over the smallest word, thought, or action.

There's a saying I learned in my childhood "Sticks and stones may break my bones but names can never hurt me." I wonder what happened to it.

We've become a culture of limp-wristed pansies.

Of course. As long as intolerance doesn't cross the line into oppression, physical or legal, then have at it! Tolerance across the board is for those who are too chickensh*t to form an opinion.

Tolerance is defined as open-mindedness, patience, and acceptance. I think it depends on the situation and your personal definition of tolerance. When you are being "tolerant" with the intent to be open-minded - that can actually be a strength. When you are being tolerant out of indecision or fear - that is weak.

If you tolerate something that is harmful to you, your friends or your family or country, that makes you stupid.

For example, I like "mountain oysters" (fried calf testicles). You can tolerate that without causing harm to self, family or country. But, if someone is a child molester, you should not tolerate that, unless you WANT your children molested.

There is a difference.

Tolerance of what? To be American is to be tolerant of others opinions and beliefs. It all comes down to respect. If you don't respect anothers beliefs but expect them to respect yours then your quite simply intolerant. You call it weakness and I call it American. I call you Unamerican and a huge part of the fear driven society that has allowed GWB to stay in office and wage war on the bill of rights and the constitution.

Try watching V for Vendetta. Great movie and that is slowly what is happening to America.

Only if it goes so far that people start taking advantage of it! In case of criminals, there should be no tolerance at all!

Only if you are letting someone do something to you or someone else that will be destructive. I see intolerence over a lot of things that are really nobodys business as well.

Not as a rule, in my opinion. You have to pick your battles. That means tolerating people and/or situations even when it sticks in your throat a bit.
